Description
A venting plug is a critical component installed in injection molds, die-casting molds, or compression molds. Its primary function is to expel trapped air, moisture, and volatile gases from the mold cavity during the molding process. As molten material (e.g., plastic, metal alloy) is injected or pressed into the cavity, the plug creates microchannels or porous pathways that allow residual air/gases to escape—preventing defects such as air bubbles, sink marks, burn marks, incomplete filling, or surface blemishes on the finished product. It ensures uniform material flow, improves mold filling efficiency, and enhances the structural integrity and surface quality of molded parts.
